Anyone tried to do a tonestack mod like the SL+ to JCM800 on a "Recto" module? Have not got the schematics for the Recto so I'm not sure if it would work...

I got it in trade deal with a dude here in Sweden, I'll think from what I heard that there ain't that many Floyd ESP Eclipse out there.. It's pretty skinny neck, not what I'm used to with my chunky Washburn CustomShop guitars.. but it feels okey to play on.

About the Tung Sol 12AX7... After lifting this question to some amp builders they all agred on that it sounds great, however some had problems with realiabilty of them.. What they keep on coming back to is to get some NOS Mullard.. here's another place to read about 12AX7 and other tubes...

It was clearly a fall forward for the SL+ module, I probably put the 33k in as soon as possible.. Also thinking on changing the V1 tube(the one in the amp not module) to one with less distortion... I think the amp right now could work better with another tube there.. Maybe a Tung Sol 12AX7...

Just did the same conversion of my SL+ to the JCM800 tonestack.. Well I didn't have a 33k resistor but used a 38k instead for now. What I can say is that as Chad already mentioned, cutting mids is much better, and the module get's more usefull. I already did the cap mod before this, think I...

Looking at the schematics of the RM100 acctually the V1 is one of the EL34's... The first stage tube is V5 or V6....

Something I picked up from Bruce Egnater, sometime when experience troubles with you MTS/RM amp you might have to change the V1.. Can't remember when or why :oops: , but I guees V1 works pretty hard..
