So after I create the specification using photoshop or other drawing based application. What are the next steps. Do I need to have someone make the metal piece based on the specs? How do you get the colors on it do you have a printing company make a label that you paste on? looking for...

    New DIY modular bass amp

Emperor-TK, Nice work! Did you have to custom make the PCB slot holder or where you able to buy the metal pre-made and add the plastic pcb slot to it? FM

    Keely-Egnater-VHT country jazz love

I actually think the Tone for Clip#1 is near perfect :) Clip#2, I agree isn't as full as #1. I can't remember what the setup or channel differences there where between the two. Mind you this is listening to it from a set off computer speaker and not in the same situation or environment as you...

    Bight switch on SL+

Agree with trazan... but note that it is more most applications. Essentially when you are practicing at low levels it boosts the Highs so that it sounds better to the ears. I believe it has to do with the Fletcher Munson theory or something like that. FM

Variation on clean module modification procedure....

Most likely the Fab ran out of 150 Resistors and they used the two resistors in Parallel to give the desired value. FM

My (finally) completed rack setup featuring the RM4

Nice setup.... I like how clean and thought out the connections are made. Note if you look at the room it looks like a hurricane hit :) your Rack system is hurricane proof :) FM

    what's the fuss about?

There are possibilities to the modules sounding the same. 1) Amp is turned off 2) Input Cable broken 3) Bad Tubes 4) Bad Speaker 5) Your hearing aid needs batteries There are probably others but I can't think of anyother quick ones. Below is a quote from antoher user, followed by a comment...

    Extreme Module Modification? Onboard Effects?

Anything is possibe. You could actually tap into the 5v or 12v regulators to power up the chorus effect. My only concern would be space. With the space alloted I would guess that you could only fit a crappy chorus effect. Next would be space on the front plate. (I woud assume that Rate/Level...

The Elements of Great Guitar Tone

Couldn't agree with you more Lance.... I remember back in the day when all I had was an ADA MP-1, DR-X (effects) and a Rickenbacker Solid State amp yet I would always get the question (Where do you get that Tone) from guitarist with a Rack litterally packed with about 10 units minimal 2 Stacks...

The Elements of Great Guitar Tone

You forgot "Finger". You need a MOJO finger to get MOJO TONE. I have also heard Big Nut Sack. A Big Nut Sack means your TONE has BALLS. FM

Is it the Tubes, Modules, Or just me?

Being that some of your modules sound good there is a possibility that the problem is with certain modules (Ultra XL and XTC). I would try swapping the tubes from a "good" one to a "bad" one, if this fixes the quality then it narrows it down to the tubes need to be replaced. Note pickups can...
