The single tube in the syn 1 itself? I did the chopstick tap test and it didn’t pop or crackle, I guess it’s possible it has died, but it looks ok. I tried all three of my modules and they all had the same problem so I doubt it’s an issue with the modules.

Just wanted to see if there are any issues using the modules in the combo as far as clearance for the module to fit properly etc. I guess that would be specific to the combo though.

I’ve just purchased a syn1 and just tried running it in 4cm with my victory rk50 and I have the same problem, it sounds really boxy. The amp sounds much more open and alive with the syn1 bypassed.

jmgman70, is that with the single channel module or dual? and is that gain to 9 (out of 10) or 9oclock? if it's 9oclock then the eg3 must have a hellish amount of gain.

Yep i realise this, the lynch box sounds big and fat with the greenbacks in, sounded buzzy and just plain weird especially in the top end with the eminence super v's, just wondered if your super v's were buzzy too.

Yeah the rm20 is an awesome piece of gear, i miss it for direct recording, i haven't found anything that i like better for that purpose yet, that mic eliminator circuit is great. Good luck in finding a pre, the M4 is great.

Did either of you guys find the top end to be extremely fizzy, mine sounded like it had a huge jar of bee's buzzing around in it. I really wanted the cab to sound awesome but alas it was not to be. I still think there was a problem with the ones i got but the techs said they were 'physically' ok.

I also had two lynch boxes that were faulty, see my other threads here somewhere on the board. I personally hated those eminence speakers so much i have swapped them out for greenbacks and am mucn much happier. I still think the ones i had were faulty as i just could not imagine george ever...
