    Fan Mod?

I got so fed up with noise of the fan i've taken the amp back to the shop and exchanged it for a boogie. I've had nothing but hassle with the Randall since the day I bought it. You send them an e mail and they ignore it, I thought Marshall were bad but at least they replied. Yeah it was a...

    I'll ASK AGAIN

Im not so sure its faulty just to noisy for recoeding and pos live work. Yes, you can't hear it when playing but there comes a point where the fan noise is louder than note decay, so , what experience have people had with engineers ie does the fan cause problems when miked etc. Cheers again

    Whistling amp

Latest news - changed the valves in the module and the one in the amp. thats sorted the whistle out (seems to have, still there when cranked). The Randall repair centre here in the UK seem to think the smell is the viynal getting hot? This might be a blag so we'll have to see. :?

    Whistling amp

Here in the UK after a month they will only offer a repair, our consumer rights suck, and it's still under guarantee. The shop are sending me two more valves to try out. If this doesn't work and it still smells funny I think I willl get it checked out. Thanks again, you guys have been great...

    Whistling amp

Mmm I shall try that as the room Im in is quite small. But heres an update I changed the pre amp valve again, this stopped the horrible feedback. But, the ultra module has started whistling again albeit at an higher volume. Right, I cranked the little bugger last night, sounded great...

    Whistling amp

Must admit not had any trouble with 12ax7's before, on any amp, always been the output tubes or electronics. The last Marshall (piece of s**t) was leaking across two pins on a valve socket. Marshall couldn't even find the fault, it took a private tech three months to find. Cost a packet as...

    Whistling amp

Mmm its squealing like a pig at the moment, regardless of volume. i'll try one more preamp valve change then it's back to the shop. It seems a shame that this valve keeps going if I had of known this I probably wouldn't have bought an MTS. Oh well such is life, anybody got sharres in a valve...

    Whistling amp

OK Lots of ideas and thanks to all of you who replied. So far I took Metalmajiks advice and changed the input preamp tube. This seems to have done the trick. But alas, when I cranked it up some other problems reared their ugly little heads. This was a low frequancy oscillation then a loud...

    Whistling amp

When I turn up the volume past 10 o clock on my ultra module the amp starts making a high pitched whistle similar to feedback but not. Anyone else experienced this, and what can be done to stop it. I have tried changing the valves in module.

    Generel questions (BIAS and voltage)

Hello and welcome to the world of MTS. Biasing is basically setting the right voltage for the valves to work correctly. 36mv for el34's. Watch the randall clips and they show you how to do it. So no tech required just a bit of confidence. To run at 220 240 it requires a fuse change and thats...

    RM100 biasing tubes question

Just to throw another point in. Anyone know what the manual is on about when it says measure between tube one and two, and it should be between 5ma, higher than 8ma the tubes aren't matched. Im ok with this - but what about tube three and four. Sent Randall an E mail but alas no reply. Whats...

    Effects Loop and Tone Suck...

Don't know if this will help at all, but, the effects loops run at line level. If one of your pedal is running at "guitar level" it will cause problems. As far as I know most Boss run at line so OK there try pullig pedals out the chain and see what happens, you can buy line level shifters which...
