I tested the pins with a multimeter, verifying that only the plate pins (2&7) had connectivity. I have given the tubes to someone with a proper tube tester, but there's no direct short in them (without power)

Yes and no. I blew R3 on the power board. It is a 5w resistor. I replaced it and tried again, but it blew almost instantly. Same resistor. It seems to tell me there's a dead short to Ground somewhere downstream. I've checked the circuits around both places it goes to the tube board (preamp side) wit...

RM 100 No Output Can't Seem to Diagnose

I have a Randall RM100 and a week or so ago, my output just cut out completely. The only sound I can get out of the amp is similar to feedback. I have tried using the effects loop and slave out to test preamp vs power amp, but I can not get the Randall to produce any sound. I've tested all fuses, as...

Oh snap  Like I remember! Stock: Murky, like there was a wool blanket over the speakers. most of the high gainers sounded the same. Changed tubes: Added clarity, definition between the modules, sparkle, and bite. Changed caps: Added some warmth, altered the tone slightly and smoothed it out. Li...

IT'S ALIVE! Yeah, took me a fvcking year, but my amp is back in business! That Auricap that I had to modify to fit in board C was shorting out on pin 6 of the V1 tube. My baby works again 8) Just had to take a bit of a break from her to get the spark back!

Weeellll.... Matt. You could always use the open source Mago/Lasse DI track people use to compare amps :P http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/f-o-h/711085-lasse-mago-di-pack-real-drums-backingtrack.html I know I'd certainly like to hear as many different high gain tones set to the best image of their...

Wow.. I came off as a prick in this post. The mix has grown on me... And I forgot to point out, that Steve is I believe on the Right channel. He plays the slide guitar on Soulless, and I think I recall it being opposite to how they set up on stage (which is Steve on the left). No comments on it? :( ...

Lore - hard rock with an oldschool edge.

http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/401852_204290506342372_2064430173_n.jpg This is MadHatter_Lurch's band. Pretty sweet oldschool stuff; he used his Randall with his self modded Blackface and Marshallized Tweed modules, plus the Ubersonic for his leads. The other guitar is through a Sunn Mode...

Yeah, there are about 3 different VHT mods out there, and Salvation's is based more on the UL, I believe.

JF: Will your current VHT mod be available on special order? It sounds like I need to take a second listen to it.

I've got a 22 cal and it's pretty sweet with a Metal Zone in front of it (conservatively dialed in, of course). however, I've not tried my Randall rig through it. I have some caps to re-solder and shield first. Also, once you hit the "blanket lift" position around 9:00, these suckers are pretty loud...

A good NOS 5751 in the phase inverter section of one of those amps will give ALL your gain modules a bit more "Grind" ;)

4" Owens Corning 705 in the corners to tame the low end.

Wait, did I say tame? I meant "rape into submission".

Kyle is a stellar guy. Very busy with personal life and whatnot though, so I'm sure he's just busy. I'll try to get a hold of him on some other forums.

Was gonna guess the Mashall on the right as well. Something I've noticed about the MTS modules is that thy tend to have a "removed blanket". There's some kind of "mush" in the original amps, where the whole tone is somewhat smeared across the frequency range. The Module mods don't have any of that, ...
