Found a good price for a GE 5751 Triple Mica Black Plate and I might get a Tung-Sol 5751 to compare.
I have 4 or 5 of the GE's. Have not tried any other 5751. Let us know if you can hear a difference.

Re: 5751 v1 of COD

I have tried a 5751 in the PI and in V1 of several mods. Almost always went back to a 12AX7 after a few weeks. My results have been that the 5751 in V1 will add some clarity and remove some hair from the tone which sounds like what you are after. It's a cheap and easy mod to do and completely revers...

Yeah I had to remove them when I tried 6550's.

I liked the 6CA7's for more bottom with the EL34 vibe.

Very nice! I shelved my RM100 for a few months because I bought a new Marshall. Fired it up again over the weekend and was surprised how much I liked the RM over the Marshall. Also reminded me that I need to add a Salvation mod back into the rotation. They feel different and sit in another spot in t...

After playing the amp over the weekend for a bit, I think it will stay. It just sounds bigger and better than my DSL and Tverb.

Each of the other amps can sometimes fit specific tones a bit better but overall, the RM100KH wins in the tone department for me needs.

Great looking amp but as a collectors piece, would probably keep it...unless you can find a collector but they'd probably want the KH1/2/3 ? Agreed. I wasn't really considering it a collectors piece for me but others might. Should have kept the KH1/2/3 that came with it but the modded module bug bi...

Price check on my RM100KH made for Kirk

I have had several Randall modular amps and have owned this one since January of 2010. Love it but might need to make some space for some Synergy stuff. Or just keep it. If I were to post it for sale locally loaded with my all time fav JF Brahma, JF Scary, and a stock Clean, what would be a decent s...

I might have a gut shot pic of one that was made for Kirk's personal use but that probably wouldn't help you with the level of detail that you are looking for. Not really sure I could find the pic now that I think about it. Back in the day, Randall made 3 unique RM100KH's for Kirk and only 2 went to...

I have a few JF mods as well and it's kinda like tubes....Go with what has the best base tone and tweak it to your needs....I obviously prefer Salvation but appreciate Rob's approach as well.... That is why I have loved the modular concept for this long. There are so many options and flavors to ple...

I have had many stock, JF, Salvation, and other mods. And rolled 6L6's, 6CA7's, and EL34's through the power amp. For some reason, the JF mods have always had a bigger and tighter low end with more thump. I do have the Foglifter installed and have settled with a Marshall 1960 cab with Greenbacks as ...

I have a JF Mr Scary if you are interested. Gain knob has a push pull mid shift and the bright switch is a gain boost. This has been bounced back and forth as my #1 and #2 over the years.

After the first night with the Marshall at band volumes, the JF Brahma and RM100KH just sound bigger. The low end is more full and tighter. Has more of a 3D type of tone for lack of a better term compared to the Marshall. Could be because the high end in the Marshall sits different in a mix from wha...

Marshall DSL100HR landing today...

...and I can't wait to A/B it with the RM100. I really want to see how the JF Brahma hangs with it.

Are you running anything else with your set up?

I had to spend some time getting my levels right when I started using the RM series amps years ago. My guess is that this is probably the case here as well.
