CH 1. KH1 CH 2. JF 59RR Platinum CH 3. SG XTC LE CH 4. Salvation Mr Boga This will give you good cleans (KH1), classic to hot rod Marshall (59RR), thrash rhythm (Boga), and fluid leads (XTC). Personally, my RM4 is a bit different, but this would be a well rounded configuration. If I was to load my R...

The Helios was incredibly stiff feeling, harsh sounding and unforgiving. I heard a few other guys play through it before I had my shot and it sounded the same. You should check out the Egnater SW45. To me both are trying to do the same thing (handwired hot-rodded Marshall JCM800 tones), but the Egn...

My top 3, must-have modules are:
1. SG Afterlife
2. JF Pitbull
3. JF Damageplan

Honorable mention is the SG Fisch. These 4 mods bring the goods from classic rock to all out war.

Good to know! I just bought an Ampeg GVT52-112 this weekend and had the same thing happen: 16 ohm speaker plugged into the 8 ohm jack. They had 3 of these amps so I've been wondering if I'd be better off returning it for another one, just in case it did any transformer damage. This one sounded the b...

Scott, you're back! You have been greatly missed!!!

P.S. This version of the Afterlife is awesome! I wish this version and the current version were switchable, but Scott said it isn't possible. I'd love to get that Criminal though. Just don't need 2 new mods.

Yea, someone will definitely be happy with this bad boy. Big Daddy preferred this over the Afterlife. Just saying.

I think, a Randall is a Randall, an old Gibson is just that. I'll need to deal with it. I've played other amps that haven't gotten me half as close to bliss as the Rm50, a Matchless for one, an older JCM800 for another. I think that's the issue. Randall's power amp is a modern power amp built with ...

I have a JF custom KH3 where it was shaped after the tone on Metallica's RTL & Black albums. It's one additional switch that alters the EQ. Man, this mod kills though! To me, it has a bit of a Recto/SLO thing going on with some Marshall attitude. I like it much better than the Mark X I had for the M...

Everyone's opinion will vary, but here is my take: The XTC LE is more in the Marshall vein with biting mids and can cut through in a mix great. It also has great clarity. It's extremely versatile given the Plexi, Blue, and Red channels with an additional boost active on the Blue and Red channels. It...

Sounds like a bad master volume pot. Try to wiggle and tap the knob to see if the sound changes. This was the case with one of my RM4s and a new volume pot solved the problem. Good luck. That's kind of what I was thinking. If so, that'd be a relatively easy fix since I can just remove the small vol...
