Re: Nitro

Might need to look at the bigger picture (power amp and speakers). Playing a Nitro pre-amp into a tiny power amp isn't going to have lots of tight bass.

Re: Salvation - recent user experiences?

Hopefully someone will answer you. I have many modules, but they are all mostly stock.

Re: V2 Module Tone Stack Tube Matter?

Depending on the module, any tube position can have an impact.

Fender circuits might have the tone stack right after one gain stage. With Marshall it is toward the back.

Try it and see.

Re: Is there a more active forum?

FYI, the Laney Posse forum died. The last message was to go to facebook.

I hate facebook.

Re: Is there a more active forum?

I feel like I got into MTS at the end of life as well LOL!

The good about this is that all the tweaking had been figured out, and the prices had gone down from the peak.

I like the amps and hope the make a comeback.

Re: Randall RM50 best clean mod?

I'm guessing you have the gain turned low and the volume turned up to keep the preamp from clipping? If the only time this is an issue is at practice I wouldn't be sweating it. Another preamp module will be $$$ and won't sound like the Blackface (I have one and it is my favorite clean). New tubes ar...

Thanks. Glad I didn't just smash the clamps down LOL.

These 6550s are gathering dust. The RM100 is the only amp I have that can use them.

Using 6550 in a RM100

The 6550 has a large base that doesn't fit in the tube retainer/clamp. How do you deal with the tube retainers? Do you just smash it down? Or do they need to be removed? Thanks. BTW, I have a Lynch head, and in old mags he used to talk about using 6550's. I have a set just gathering dust, so why not...

Lynchbox head questions

I've either read or misread that the Lynchbox head already comes with an updated presence / resonance board (i.e. sort of a foglifter). Is that true or would a foglifter be of benefit? FWIW, I really don't have issues with it being "foggy". If anything, I'd almost want it warmer. It is very "present...

Thanks for the review. Right now I am struggling hard on what to do. I have a Studio preamp that I pipe into the FX return, but I'm trying to find out as much about the MarkUS to see if I should get it as a replacement or not. I go back and forth, but right now have a real Mesa preamp with EQ, rever...

Interesting info.

I always thought RM's were very tough with the big trannies and all. Never knew they had a glass chin.

I have an RM100LB that seems fine to me. I use proper speaker cables and match impedance with the cab I use. Don't run the tubes too hot.

Thanks for the insight.
