Did you check the tube that's in the SYN-1? That's V1, so it is an important tube for any module. Just a thought before you send it back. You can see the gear I have in my signature, and the only issue I've had is one pre-amp tube in one module (none in the SYN-1/SYN-2/SYN-30.) So far it's all been ...

I plugged the SYN-1 + MTS Plexi module with my Fender Strat, and it was so nice. The balance between Fender clean, and Plexi tones was very refreshing! Honestly with the stock MTS Plexi, the only good tone out of that mod is all the knobs at 10. But with that setting, I do like the tone a lot, espe...

This is a copy paste from another thread, but I think the info applies here: I have both the Metro Plex, the Synergy Plexi and Synergy 800. They really are all great and of course similar in many ways, but the differences are noticeable. First off you really can't go wrong with any of them. If I wer...

I have both the Metro Plex, the Synergy Plexi and Synergy 800. They really are all great and of course similar in many ways, but the differences are noticeable. First off you really can't go wrong with any of them. If I were to keep only one module it would be the Synergy Plexi. The Metro Plex to me...

The built in clean channel is supposed to be a high headroom clean channel, hence no need for a master volume, like blackface Fender amps.

The modules all have master volumes built into them, so another master would be redundant in my opinion.

Thought I'd give an update, I ended up getting the Synergy 800 module and I'm very happy with it. I also have the Metro-Plex module and in person they each have their own unique sound, as expected. I could actually see using the 800 for crunchy rhythm sounds and the Metro-Plex for leads. You can dia...

I guess I should mention I'm not necessarily looking for more gain, mostly just a different flavor of Marshall tone. Years ago I had a JCM 800 clone, and while it was entirely too loud for what I was doing (only a 50 watt!) I liked the rawness and immediacy. It wasn't a very compressed amp, and that...

Synergy 800 Pre-Amp

Has anybody tried out this module yet? I'm intrigued by it. I have and love the Metropolous Metro-Plex pre-amp and it can get plenty mean. That being said I'd love to have a master volume pre-amp. Without trying them it's hard to determine the specific differences between all of the "Marshall" inspi...
