Re: No bias reading rm50

I had the same issue with my Rt2/50.
I had a bad 12ax7 and a bad power tube, after I changed them everything worked normally again.
I don't know how a Rm50 has all the tubes in the power section laid out but I imagine it is a similar issue.

Re: Randall RM50 best clean mod?

The Salvation Loneclean sound great and has plenty of options for tweaking.
You can't go wrong with that module.

I have been thinking the same thing,my RM22 footswitch is missing and it can only be switched manually. I had also about about modding the boosts to be built in Tube screamer style circuits but I have already modded my RM22 so much that I could never recover the costs in resale. Maybe that is a good...

I only own the Synergy VH4 module at the moment, so I cannot say anything for sure about the overall quality of all of the different Mods. What I can say is that I own around thirty modded modules and the Synergy VH4 is in my top three Mods. When I compare it to my Salvation Denzin Mod I can get the...

I use a Universal Audio Ox for everything now, but the Fryette Power station 2 is also great.

Sorry, I was half asleep when I answered your post. I should have said that there are three 12AX7 tubes in the back of the RT2\50. One for each channel and a shared one in the middle. Your problem will be with either the tube that is exclusive to the channel that is not working or with one side of t...

I had the same issue once.
There is a 12AX7 tube that is shared between the two channels, one side of it has probably blown.
Remember to plug the Midi switch in before you turn the amp on. :D

I have not compared all poweramps the same time but from my memory the SYN5050 is a little more focused and 'middy' and less Hi-Fi and sits between a good tube poweramp and a transistor amp.[/quote] Do you prefer the Syn 5050 to the VHT? I know the VHT has a very good reputation but I have not tried...

I feel it is a little dark and compressed too, but I am planning to get mine Foglifted some time soon. I have an RT2/50. What is foglifting please? The Foglifter is a re-voicing of the Presence and Density controls. https://jadedfaithmods.com/mts-amp-mods To get it done you will need to remove the ...

Nice to get your opinion on the Syn 5050. I have been interested in the Syn 5050 but I have been put off by the price, and a suspicion that the transformers size would be a compromise the sound in a one rack unit. Have you tried the Randall Rt2/50? I feel it is a little dark and compressed too, but ...

You should not be using a Gate to bury the noise before getting rid of as much noise as possible via grounding and protection from electrical interference. I use a fairly pricey Furman Power Conditioner and a Radial SB-6 Isolator to cure most of the problems and then a gate between the Preamp and Po...

If you keep the RM22 you should get a the Mercury Magnetics power section mods from Jaded Faith, they sound fantastic.
I also I'd the Master volume mod too.
Only problem is that by the time you do all that stuff, it will be worth over a thousand Euro and probably hard to resell without taking a hit.

Try a plug in like Melda Mauto-align.
I am using it at the moment to phase align room mics and it works great.
