If you want more gain than the Metroplex you should probably go HBE.

Metroplex probably has more gain on tap than a typical 800 preamp section, it has 4 gain stages while an usual 800 only has 3 gain stages (Plexi has 2).

Because people just copy their stuff without asking.

There're a couple Marshall and Fender type modules in the current Synergy lineup.

There's an AMT one for ~$200. Mooer has one coming at $150.

Sounds meh to me. Analog cab sims tend to have that "tearing cardboard" quality which I can't unhear no matter how much the designer tried to refine the EQ curve.

Just get a cheap IR loader pedal.

When you bypass the preamp the XLR out would be muted.

But the clean signal will go through the "to amp in" output.

The VH4 module blue channel is spectacularly close to the amp channel 3 - the module has more bass but my channel and amp volumes are at about 8 o'clock versus the modules at noon - I'm pretty sure that if I was running the channel up it would even out, oh and then I would get arrested for the nois...

JKD wrote:Quick question, is Ch A louder than Ch B at similar gain settings, assuming you have Ch masters set more or less the same like your video?
Yeah that's what it sounds like. Although I'm not sure if channel A is actually louder or is it just because it has more mids.

Haven't played/heard the modules but in terms of actual Fenders, the Tweed amps have more sag and mid hump than the Blackface ones. The typical "Fender clean" you're thinking about are probably Blackface.
