You just need to hook up a trs cable from the ES-5 Ctl to the Syn 1 footswitch jack. It works fine

The plexi module goes after the cranked up side of the plexi tone, you can't really get a clean sound. The ds on the other hand is perfect for clean and dirty tones.

Dave said on tone talk that with the plexi module you could get more of a van halen tone, so i would imagine it has more gain than the metroplex
