I have that same cab, built it myself about 20 years ago, same EV plans, loaded with an EVM 12L. I also had a Mesa Boogie 1 x 12 cab for awhile that was based on the same design and my cab, following the plans, and using void free birch, was more solidly built--and I'm no carpenter. I put rubber fee...

Does the module easily slide all the way in and tightly seat firmly to the amp before the screws are tightened? I had a problem with a module not seating correctly (RM100LB) and it turned out there were wires hanging down inside the amp above the module port.

Dual TD versus Randall Deluxe?

I'm in the process of moving from a single to dual module system. I've always thought that the Randall Deluxe module is a great out of the box stocker for SRV/Chris Duarte blues. With the gain cranked, it's thick, warm and totally blows away the Tweed module, IMO. With a BB Pedal in front of it, it ...

Not sure how this will apply to the Synergy versions, but Dave Friedman (2009) wrote: "...the HBE is designed to give more gain to the BE. The voice is almost the same but just a little meaner. The BE with the sat switch has more compression and a little more scooped and metal sounding then the HBE....

Oh, 100 bucks eh? Well, I'd take that and a Mr. Scary module for mine. Do you have a Mr. Scary module? I think that would be a fair trade. I just hope you don't think I'm taking advantage of you, because the Scary really is a great mod! http://idaent.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Most-expensive-car...

Yes, there is no doubt a lot of cool modded modules out there. My main point is that some of the stockers were as good as anything and at used prices, well worth the bang for the buck. Sometimes a mod makes it "different" or provides more flexibility but whether or not it sounds "better" is subjecti...

I've been playing for 36 years and have had a ton of different gear over the years and, at least IMO, I have a pretty sophisticated and finicky ear, although I'm sure everyone thinks that about themselves. I had a few different modded modules that I did not care for. One was a Marshall based mod tha...

I have actually had a few modded modules that I was disappointed in and ended selling. I actually liked those modules better before they were modded. Some of the stockers really do sound good as is. The Deluxe module is great for warm, thick sounding dirty blues and crunch and really sounds killer w...

Are stock modules becoming extinct?

It seems like they are. With all the modding and using stock modules as donors, it seems like the non signature, stock modules are showing up less and less on eBay or in the classifieds. I recently bought a stock black faced Deluxe because I had the original one modded and have my feelers out for an...

The Twinface and Baseman just really capture all the clean and mid tones I have wanted from Fender amps...They are both near perfect replicas of the amps and anyone who saw my Baseman video saw and heard the comparison with the "real" Fender vs Baseman...PLUS, the mods nail the core tones of the am...
