Which mid frequencies to boost in Plexi, Recto modules?

I'd like my Plexi and Recto modules to cut a little better in live situations. My other modules (Blackface, Ultra Lead, 1086) all cut well and still sound very warm while doing so. To get a similar level of cut from my Plexi & Recto, I have to set them brighter than I would prefer. For the record, I...

Well, I can't give you the exact weights... But I can tell you that I've got an RM4, a VHT 2/50/2, a 1 space multi-effects, a 1 space tuner, and a 1 space wireless receiver all in a rack. And that sucker definitely weighs more than an RM100! It feels like it weighs more than my 412 cab, which is 90 ...

Re: !!!

i just got an rm20! that sucks bc now im gonna lose alot of value on it No, you just need to start the rumor that the new channel switching RM20s lack the punch and tone of the vintage single channel models. Don't you know that's what guitar players always do whenever any new piece of gear comes out?

If you haven't already done so, you are going to have to open up your RM4 and see where the switches are set. No way around it. See my thread on this subject from years ago: http://mtsforum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?t=33&highlight=midi The geniuses at Randall shipped my RM4 with the internal MIDI ...

I've been using my RM4 for over 3 years (with a VHT 2/50/2 and other assorted rack gear). I play over 100 shows a year. Other pieces in my rig have had a few minor hiccups during that time...but so far the RM4 has performed flawlessly!!! (fingers crossed) I would not feel confident playing out with ...

This is per an e-mail Bruce Egnater sent to me when I asked the same question:

>Bottom one is the input amp that feeds all modules. Top right is the
>effects send, preout and return mixer. Top left is the post loop outs.

I did the .001 cap mod to my Plexi. I like it better this way than the stock version, which to me was a little too flubby on the low end. Everyone else on this forum thinks I'm crazy, though.

I have played in cover bands for over 10 years. I generally play every Friday & Saturday night and earn about $15,000 a year doing so. It's not my "real job," as I work a 9-5 job during the week. I starting the cover band thing because I enjoy it...now because of the spousal support I have to pay to...

Just bought an NOS Ultra Lead. Have to wait now till it arrives. So let?s see! If it's one of the really old ones, it will come stock with the .0047u C3 cap. Mine originally had this, but I replaced it with a .001u cap and liked it better after the change. I felt the stock cap gave it a little too ...

The Ultra Lead is neither of these. It's a totally separate module that was designed exclusively for lead playing. It reminds me of a Mesa Boogie Mark series amp (think Santana).

I believe Randall has discontinued the Ultra Lead.

Re: Egnater M4

Also are the FX loops midi contollable for bypass and do they have individual send/return knobs? The M4's being produced today do not have effects loops at all. The original M4's did, but Bruce eliminated them from the design some time ago. The Randall RM4 does have parallel & serial effects loops....

Some of the early reviews RT2/50 on Harmony Central mentioned reliability problems, so I went with the VHT 2/50/2 instead.

Has anybody here had problems with their RT2/50?
