Re: Backup

My backup rig consists of just a Hotone Mojo Attack pedal. You can get them used for $150. You can drive a cabinet with it and/or run direct to a PA. You would be surprised how good it sounds for solid state. The one channel is a Fender clean and the other is a Mesa Dual Rectifier. It also has an on...

Re: Jaded Faith Mach X Mesa Mark Dual Channel

I would also consider trades for other Salvation, Jaded Faith, or Synergy modules.

Would be most interested in Marshall style mods or a Voxyface. Also 5150.

Thanks!

Re: Most versatile Marshall style Synergy module?

Thanks everyone! I've had my eye on the BE/BB. Plus I hear the clean channel is good, too.

Re: Most versatile Marshall style Synergy module?

Thanks for all the replies! Maybe I should just go with the Salvation Audio Banned module for pure versatility. It supposedly covers Plexi, 800, Brown sound, and JVM in one module via 2 separate toggle switches. Wonder how it stacks up with those Synergy modules head to head?

Most versatile Marshall style Synergy module?

Hey, all! Looking for some opinions on the most versatile Marshall style Synergy module. I'd like to be able to cover tones such as early Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, up to heavier 80s and 90s rock (Ozzy, Alice and Chains, Motley Crue). Not sure if I should go with the 800, the Plexi, or the Metroplex....

Re: VAI Dual EQ Module!!!

Hope so but haven't heard what the price will be. $400 is already steep so I'll cross my fingers that it is the same price as the rest of the modules. I'm surprised it hasn't been released yet since Vai has had one for at least 6 months. Wonder if he's still tweaking it. Will definitely have to get ...

Re: Fav cleans module?

Outside of the Synergy modules, I really love my Salvation Loneclean and Jaided Faith VX30. Both can do full, punchy, cleans with lots of chime. The JF VX30 nails those Voxy tones, and the Loneclean has a great American clean sound, with the bonus of a 3 way mode switch to add Texas or dirty Tweed f...

Re: Sacred Groove Vox mods

I have the JF VX30 and it's awesome! Snappy chimey cleans, and my favorite low-to-mid mid gain tones out of all my modules. The tone cut pot is really effective. I just wish it was dual channel so I could utilize the cleans and the drive. The top boost switch is cool, too. I'll have to get around to...

Re: VAI Dual EQ Module!!!

I went to Vai's guitar camp over the summer and he was using that Synergy module. It sounded awesome. He demoed it side by side with his Carvin Legacy preamp pedal, and even though the sounds were similar, the Synergy sounded better and even Vai stated so. Until it is released, there's always an opt...

Re: SYN-50 vs Mod 50 heads

So, got a great Black Friday deal on the Synergy SLO. Love it! It sounds pretty similar to my Mr. Scary, though I actually like the crunch channel, which is less compressed, a bit more. Wondering if the cathode bias might tighten up the bass even more and bring out more sparkle versus the standard F...

Re: Telefunken Tubes

Otherwise, if you're looking for a current production tube for the phase inverter slot, many people (including myself) like the Sovtek LPS. Long plates and low noise because of the spiral filament. I would recommend balanced triodes for the phase inverter so that the signal is split equally to the p...

Re: Weird distortion on clean

Spoke too soon. The distortion seems to be back. Weird that it's intermittent. It sucks when you buy used gear and find out there's a problem later on!
