Mojo did a good job of describing what IR's do... I first got into 'em when I got my Axe-FX because I could never find any stock speaker/mic combinations that worked for me. So Redwirez ( http://www.redwirez.com ) had a free IR trial, I downloaded those (since they were compatible with the Axe-FX), ...

Safe to use RM22 in "silent" mode without speaker?

I guess the subject pretty well sums it up... I want to use the RM22 for a scaled down gig by running the XLR out to the PA and having no guitar cabs on stage. Since it's technically on "standby", does it cause any damage to the power section to be in standby without a load? (The sooner the better o...

I wasn't even thinking about a dual-channel module per se; I was just thinking through some of the more popular Hiwatts I've seen over the years. I'd probably settle for any of 'em in module form. :)

Interesting article... thanks for posting the link! I used to be super type-A about mics and placement when recording guitar: I, too, used a multi-mic setup (typically a Blue dynamic mic on the speaker cap and a Cascade ribbon mic near the edge of the cone--took a small eternity to get 'em aligned r...

Hiwatt module

Was just curious... does anybody here make a Hiwatt (DR-103, DG/CP-504) module? That's one of the few tones I haven't found a suitable replacement for since I started playing MTS gear again.

Thanks,

No, as far as I know, the RM22 can only run EL84's.

What's the difference between the Stonerverb and StonerAD?

I read the description on the Salvation Mods site, but having not owned/played either of the Orange amps they're based on, the descriptions don't give me much sense of the difference.

Thanks,

Is this a pretty consistent/safe trick across other manufacturer's amps as well? I hadn't noticed issues with any of my Egnater/MTS gear, but did take my Vendetta out for a jam session last week and it was picking up radio stations like crazy (even though it's always been ok at home). RM100KH transformer?

Thought I recalled reading (though can't remember where) that Kirk's RM100KH model has a different transformer than other RM100's. Anybody know what the difference is?

Question(s) for Salvation MarkUs owners

I just picked up a MarkUs module and, as a long time Mesa Mark-series player, I must say that it's pretty d@#$ close. So having grown up on Mesas, I've got a few questions about the module just to make sure I'm thinking about the controls the right way... 1) Assuming the EQ switch is off when in the...

How do Friedman C45/BE/HBE mods compare to SL2/MHG/EG3/4/5?

I've read a couple reviews of the Friedman C45/Brown Eye/Hairy Brown Eye mods and was wondering how they compare to the Egnater higher gain modules like the SL2, MHG, EG3/4, EG5? Or, said another way, if I've already got an SL2, an MHG, an EG3/4, and an EG5, how much variety would one of the Friedma...

I think (er, hope) this is everything I've owned over the years...

(then again, that's not the list of gear I currently own... just what I've gotten rid of...)

Yeah, I like stuff. :)
