Re: aftermarket foot switch for Egnater MOD 50

Is the Randall RF4 foot switch completely compatible with the Egnater MOD 50 amplifier? Yes it is. Pretty much any midi controller will work. Although, if you have any other midi gear, I would consider getting a more advanced controller that supports both midi CC and PC messages. A good midi contro...

So you're saying it's "fine", but do you use it? or still keep it turned full counterclockwise? Yes, I would probably use it in some situations. If you want to soften the feel, it works but you don't want to hear it, just barely feel it if that makes sense. About 8:30 - 9:00 ar the most which is ab...

uhmmmm Yuk? Yikes? WTF? Which one applies best? You prolly just don't know how to dial it in Marco ;) In fact you prolly shouldn't even own an amp lmao (This is OF COURSE a joke) Hahaha!!! I know how to dial it in... 100% counter clockwise sounds great! Joking aside, setting to where the led just s...

Is it like almost a clipping/overloaded kind of "utter crap"? No, it's trying to give the feel of an amp starved of power. It's not clipping, it's more like sucking the juice away. So if you turn it up any more than when the LED starts to light up, the volume lowers, the sound collapses; it's like ...

It is recommended that you adjust the knob to level where the LED just comes on with heavy guitar pick attack.
Because if you turn it any higher, it will sound like utter crap...

True story.

has anyone come to any conclusions for themselves on this question.

2 x PI. does it matter? what do you use?
I read the comment above yours and was like pfft... that s*&t doesn't matter.. and then realized it was my comment.

I was using it in switching mode at the time and wondered if anyone could notice a difference in the PI I guess...
The PI can make a difference especially if the one you're replace was bad. If your a real sniffer you might notice a difference with different PIs but if your using two types of power tubes, how would you know?

If you don't need to worry about a host amp, it should be easy to connect. For the FX8, you would probably need to assign a different midi channel to each SYN2 so you could control one with PC and the other with CC as the FX8 only allows one each per scene.

What they suggest wouldn't work because with the first SYN2 bypassed, the second SYN2 would be running in the loop of the host amp with the host amp pre section active. I'm going to think about it some more... Edit: I'm not seeing a way to have multiple SYN2 and a host amp without an additional audi...

Yup, the CAB would be ideal but the built in speaker emulation is great as well.

I just spent a few minutes trying to think how I would connect it and I ran into a few problems. In the SYN2 manual, it describes the connections but I'm not tracking... It seems you would lose the FX loop in the first to connect the second and then the fx loop in the second wouldn't be available in...

The Torpedo CAB is perfect for this but I really like the cab sim on the SYN2. I just can't get a feel using WOS with the latency. Using both outputs on the SYN2, one to a CAB > DAW and the other direct to DAW lets you get a tone you can perform with and a direct signal you can later apply WOS or re...

Hi Marco. Mind sharing the reason why you don't want to keep the BE? Too similar to the DS or just not your cup of tea? The HBE sounds narrow and compressed. It's very tight and would probably work well for down tuned playing. There is no sweetness to it? IDK, I'm just not digging it... I had a an ...

I mean the one that really blows my mind is the SYN-50. Its basically a power amp. It has empty bays where the preamp is supposed to go. $2199 for a 50w poweramp?? uhmmm ok sure LMAO dumbasses............... The website isn't really clear but I'm pretty sure that includes 2 modules, which I think w...

JF ODS is def hard to beat for a mid gainer. I haven't played through Rob's new OD-2, but... some of my favorite tones from the ODS are found by flipping the switches. For some reason Rob deleted those tonal options on the OD-2? Who knows.... I had 3 different revs of the original ODS but the OD-2 ...
