Your amp - down to the nitty gritty

It's a boss gt-pro. Whilst it's not the best fx unit in history, it does the job!

Your amp - down to the nitty gritty

Not strictly a Randall amp as I sold my RM4 and built a hand-wired 4 channel head but the circuits for each preamp are 99% identical to the circuits from the modules I used to use in my RM4 (and FWIW the output stage is based on an SLO). Input: JJ ECC83S (1st half of shared tube with Deluxe V1)...

    FS: RM4 & Deluxe/Top Boost/Plexi/Rectified mods (UK)

For sale in the UK (EU & USA sales considered but probably not worthwhile due to shipping charges): Randall RM4. Very Good condition. ?350 + shipping. Deluxe module - Stock module, silver fascia. Has a "blackface" fascia for some reason. ?65 + shipping. Top Boost module - Silver fascia...

anyone have any of those H11F1 optocouplers you could sell?

http://www.banzaimusic.com/H11F1.html It's in the EU but they ship worldwide I think.

Any decent mod guys in UK?

If the product was made in the USA then I'd understand the hike in price, but the Randall MTS stuff is Asian made IIRC, so the shipping prices to both the USA and the EU should be comparable... maybe a touch higher in the EU, but not a 100% markup. If the product is currently going Asia -> USA...

    RM100 & Boss GT Pro

This is perfectly feasible. I don't have an RM100... Ihave an RM4 and a poweramp but I run it in a similar way... Guitar --> GT Pro (Wah / Compressor) --> RM4 --> GT Pro (Chorus, Delay, Reverb) --> Marshall 9200 poweramp I also use the FC200 and it is a nice solid piece of kit. It's great for...

    RM4 Schematic

Thanks for this, although it seems to be missing the main circuit board. It has the input and output jack circuits and V1 and V2 tubes, but not the way that they're actually joined up. RM44, RM46 and RM46-1 are all the same picture. Thanks for what you've put up anyway.

    Looking for a SuperV module..trades???

The cap removal makes a marginal difference. 90% of the difference is in the resistor.

    PLEXI MODS

Components: 22uf cap (min 25V), 820R resistor (1/4 watt) - optional 1) Optional step - remove the 1K resistor in position R24 (just beside the right hand tube) and replace it with the 820R resistor 2) Solder the 22uf cap to the empty C13 position 3) Remove R7 The resulting sound gives you...

    Stock Plexi settings

If you want more gain on your Plexi module... Components: 22uf cap (min 25V), 820R resistor (1/4 watt) - optional 1) Optional step - remove the 1K resistor in position R24 (just beside the right hand tube) and replace it with the 820R resistor 2) Solder the 22uf cap to the empty C13 position...

New to MTS - Module Advice Needed

Are you any good with a soldering iron and an electric drill? For $5 worth of parts you can use a switch to increase the gain of the Plexi while retaining its tone.

To the RD Guys!! (Logo and Faceplates)

Emailed 3 or 4 days ago... nothing. I still don't quite get why it's so hard for the Randall webshop to ship international. Here's how ridiculous it gets... I wanted to ADVERTISE Randall by wearing a baseball cap. I couldn't get one from the US (due to the above problem) and ended up getting...

To the RD Guys!! (Logo and Faceplates)

+1. I'm quite happy with the black stripe style, but I need new "Top Boost" and "Deluxe" fascias. Hmm.... UK/EU wide problem here. How about international customers actually being able to buy from the online Randall store. Now there's a novel thought!!!

    Recto module mod

No Might sound subtely different but not big time. Mine was a black stripe rectified I know I'm being over simplistic here but are you sure you picked up up the right resistor? (Hey... the simplest mistakes are the easiest to make)... 220K = red red yellow 100K = brown black yellow Good...

    Recto module mod

Strange... I tried your mod first (220K) and it was definitely more scooped than my 100K mod. By upping R31 you should be lowering the mid and bass gain. I.E. 100K should give you more mid gain than 220K. That's why I used 100K, not 220K. But I'm guessing you knew that! (Hence why you said it...

Almost sold my amp. Dunno what got into me.

It's even worse in the UK. Hardly anyone stocks Randall... period. My nearest MTS stockist is about 300 miles away. Sure, there are others that will get the stuff in if I place a deposit but that's no good when you want to try before you buy. From what I can gather, the UK distribution is the...

    Recto module mod

Don't forget to change R31 too, and Maximus' mod is based on the Grail settings, with C3 reduced to between 470pf and 1n5 and R31 between 100K (what I did) and 220K (what Maximus did). With R31 at 220K you'll get even more scoop. I've got C3 as 470pf and R31 as 100K and to my ears, it sounds...

    Recto module mod

To do Maximus' scooped mod? Yes. When you try it for the first time, set the gain and the level to about 2 o'clock. That's where it sounds really good.
