i'm currently using an isp g-string decimator pedal (as in not the rack unit) in the series loop of an rm50.
i've noticed that when i bring up the preamp volume, mute or dig in on the lower end i get an awful clipping.
i've checked my many cables, tried powering pedals separately and unplugging...
It's hard to say, I'm sure both modules could fit my requirements and after playing either I'd probably need look no further (hopefully).
Anyway, I run my power amp pretty much at noon to wide open depending on circumstance. I have power scaling installed as well as an Eminance Maverick speaker...
Anyone with experience with both or either have any opinions on which they prefer and why? I recently purchased the phenomenal Super Clean and on the strength of its brilliance have decided to go with one of the pre amps up for discussion.
Many thanks...
Sorry to Necromance this thread but after limited success originally trying some SP3T (on on on) configurations when this thread started I am finally getting around to revisiting and finishing what I started correctly.
I was hoping some one could shed some light on something for me.
Do I need...
Are you sure j? Isn't this pedal designed to go in the loop as well as before the pre?
I've had a few light ales so excuse the question if it appears silly. I understand there has been much trouble shooting with the Randall loops.
Bummer if so, I've been looking forward to dropping mine in the...
What gauge wire would be sufficient to hook up switches from the boards in the pre-amp sections to some toggles on the amps face?
I have some 22 gauge rated at 300V, 176 degrees F . Would this be adequate?
EDIT: Deadcat, do you have a SP3T ON-ON-ON, with six terminals? I misread your original post the first time around.
yes, i believe it would be a more straight forward layout that on-off-on right? three caps switchable in parallel?
i think i have it. a diagram would be much appreciated if you don't mind. it's always nice to have some extra frame of reference before going to work.
thanks a lot s.
I was going to interrupt the input stage with a three way switch controlling different cap values - tight, normal and loose if you will.
will a single pole triple throw switch do the trick? i have double pole but it's not necessary is it? hope this makes sense.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'd considered the digitech, and it definitely fits in the try before you buy category as I'm sure it's a guitar center special.
It' clipped post preamp for sure. It was a while ago but I believe I could clip it in the front also, I'm using the 18V livewires that run 25dbs or so of boost.
I don't intend to run delay before my preamp.
Anybody have any experience with any of the new Eminence flux density speakers?
Compare to; Green back, Swamp thang, V30, Super V, Black powder, gt 75. All speakers I have used in the past.
Any suggestions for a decent delay unit that won't clip? Looking for a slap back unit. Not looking for a deep unit or multi fx.
I had a dano reel eco, that wasn't too bad but clipped and so ultimately sold it on.
I'd of course love an echoplex or a real tape unit but can't justify spending that...
digitech are releasing this modeler (featuring the amps listed above) next year with a 12ax7 to bring it as close to the real thing as possible. who hasn't tired of lugging around their rogue and peavy backstage, wishing all those sounds were available in just one box?
