    Chinese made guitars?

Sorry to hear about your terrible experience, frustration, and waste of money. I guess you get what you pay for. Thanks for giving us all the heads up. Graham

    Chinese made guitars?

I mistakenly bought a "Fender" Strat on eBay a few years ago, but it was a Chinese knock-off. The pictures looked nice. But it was a piece of crap. I couldn't sell it in good faith so I gave it away. I own a few guitars made in other far east countries, such as Korea. They are all high quality.

Any Love For The Salvation Legend?

I'm still waiting for delivery. I hope Matt Figgy hasn't forgotten my order.

Any Love For The Salvation Legend?

I hope so ... I've got one one its way to the USA.

    Fave clean and why....

Our band plays mostly Steely Dan, Police, Dire Straits, and Mark Knopfler, so my clean tone is VERY important. We're definitely not a metal band so I don't have any "high-gain" modules. Check out some of our song samples in the link to my band's web site below. I use a Randall stock Clean most...

Any Love For The Salvation Legend?

Hey BoB, thanks for your advice. The SoundCloud sample on the Salvation Legend page is the kind of sound I'd like to emulate: https://soundcloud.com/salvation-mods/salvation-mods-legend-module Do you think the Camerock or some other Salvation mod can get close to this Legend sample and provide...

Any Love For The Salvation Legend?

Hi CT, thanks for your response. Currently, I have the following modules in my 4 RM4 slots: 1. Stock Randall Clean - believe it or not, I prefer this clean module to all those I've tried. It's great for Mark Knopfler Strat clean tones. 2. Salvation C-Watt - I use this mostly for crunchy...

Any Love For The Salvation Legend?

I'm considering adding a Salvation Legend to my RM4 stable for lead work. My band plays classic rock covers such as Steely Dan, Police, Cars, Peter Gabriel. No metal so I'm NOT looking for a heavy overdrive sound. Will the Legend be a good fit for lead work? Thanks for your input.

    RM20/22 - Convincing Vox/Matchless Tones?

I run my RM4 into a Mesa Boogie Stereo 20/20 primarily because it uses EL84 power tubes and it's plenty powerful for my on-stage needs. The advantage of the 20/20 is, apart from being a rack-mount stereo power amp, it takes up only 1 rack space. My stock TOP BOOST module, as well as my stock...

RT2/50 on Reverb for only $385!

The RT2/50 is one of the best built amps I own. I didn't know this, but looking at the Reverb.com pictures, it even powers a clothes dryer.

    Component Spreadsheet

I finally heard back from my ISP guru. He tells me that the links to the component spreadsheet files are good and that any member of the Grailtone forum should be able to download them. He suggests that the problem could be with your firewalls and the fact that Microsoft Word and Excel files...

    Component Spreadsheet

First of all, a couple of apologies. I am NOT receiving any PM's. Please use my email address to contact me. Unfortunately, the Grailtone PM system seems to be problematic. I have asked my ISP guy to figure out why some of you are having trouble accessing the component spreadsheet files. As...

    CLEAN module question

I've owned 2 Clean modules, and both had no capacitors in C7. Don't confuse CLEAN mods with BLACKFACE mods. If you download my spreadsheet file (see DIY topic - component spreadsheet), this has all of the standard resistor and capacitor values for both the Clean and Blackface modules as well...

Front Panel (Grey) Channel Selector Button, Your MIDI Friend

I just bought a backup RM4 and, for a while, I was buffalo'd because I couldn't select channel 4 with my MIDI foot-pedal. Channels 1 through 3 were working fine but channel 4 would not activate. Then I remembered the front panel channel selector button. It's not there just to select channels...

    WTB A Clean module

Yes Fig but you're selling the TwinFace for $399 when you can pick up a stock Randall CLEAN for about a quarter of that price. For that price ratio, the stock CLEAN is at least worth as try.

    WTB A Clean module

Give the stock Randall CLEAN a try. It has a permanent home in the first slot of my RM4 and I rely on my Mesa Stereo 20/20 to warm it up a little. I haven't found any modded "Clean" that's worth the extra money.

    Any preferred power amps

I use a Mesa Boogie Stereo 20/20. A single rack space and way lighter than the RT2/50 or the more powerful Mesa Boogie rack amps. The 20/20 will make your ears bleed. Any gigs we play that need more power, we team up with a sound company that uses some nice mics on my cabs. So my rig is...
