About every couple of months, I have to clean the contacts on one or two of the jack sockets on my RM4. Can anyone suggest a better quality jack socket to replace these? The sockets are TRS types and have 3 contacts along each side.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I would check the dimension drawing pdf file before ordering. I'd have to pull the chassis to really confirm. They also come non-switching so you would need to check that also. Yes, one can use standard TRS chassis mount sockets and use flying leads BUT, the PCB sockets are all insulated sleeve types and you want to be sure you are not grounding a circuit to chassis ground which should not be grounded. Also, I think there would be problem with the chassis mount jacks clearing the PCB.

I've ordered some Neutrik NYS216G jack sockets:

These appear to be compatible with the RM4's motherboard. The pin configuation is dimensionally compatible (1/4" between pins and approx. 5/8" between the 2 sets of 3 pins). Also, these have gold contacts so they should be more reliable than the factory jacks.

I'll update this topic after I've installed them to let everyone know whether or not this is the right way to go.

Good. I didn't have the board to look at and couldn't verify the type of termination the socket has. The metal chassis doesn't give much "wiggle room." Hope it works!
