MTS: I'm Now a Believer

Post by danger5oh » Wed Dec 28, 2011 12:45 pm

Hello friends,

I just figured i would post a quick intro since i'm new to the MTS forums. My name's Aaron, and I'm the frontman/co-rhythm guitarist for a thrash/groove metal band named Ghost of Infamy. I just picked up my first MTS amp... RM100 2x12 combo w/ Clean, Treadplate, and Ultra modules... and I must admit, I don't know why I didn't take the plunge sooner. I've been pretty much a devout Mesa Boogie fan for years, but I was getting a little tired of lugging my Dual Rec halfstack around. Enter the RM100...

Any way, I originally picked up the RM100 to use as my home amp, allowing me to leave my Mesa at my band's jam spot, but I'm quickly finding that the versatility of this thing is giving me more inspiration to play than ever. And with the plethora of modules, this amp should satisfy my gear-whoring habits lol.

Judging by how heavy my RM50 head is, lugging that 2x12 RM100 around can't be much of a bargain either. My 6505+ combo wasn't light. I had a build a cab for the amp portion, and it only weighs about 1/2 what the RM50 head weighs. They must use some big-ass transformers in these things.
Randall Amps:RM50 head, RM20 combo, RM20 head, T2HL head
Other Amps: Marshall 410H, Laney Ironheart 60, Carvin X100B, Carvin V3M, Peavey 6505+ (converted head)
