Hello everyone

Post by audio » Tue Feb 14, 2012 2:36 pm

Hi to all !

I`m newbie here from a week, but I`ve succeeded to purchase a Lynch box already and tried to buy two more modules.
So excited and can`t wait my LB to arrive.

Hi and welcome! You've found the internet's best kept amp forum...The LB was a great move- what mods did you get? I'm sure you'll see lots of discussions about stock and modded modules...Donors too...
So here's a quick tutorial:

1. Stock Mods - Any mods made by Randall or Egnater that have not been additionally "modified" by a "modder." There are basics such as SL+ and Treadplate as well as signature stock mods like Grail and Mr. Scary...

2. Modded mods - These are taking a stock mod and further twisting it into something new or improved...Many modders make replica mods of some very famous amps and most of them are pretty dead on to boot...Modders can sell you a stock mod as a base for the modification or you can send them one of your own....Modders also make their own flavors of mods too such as Jaded Faith's XMG...It's not based on one amp in particular but rather a mixture of elements from other mods...

3. Donor mods are the stock mods you provide or buy to be modded....

As a general rule, modded modules are better but cost more....Some stock mods are quite good but some suck so ask questions!

Good luck!

My modules are : Clean, Custom 3 (Salvation) and Angel (Salvation).
So I don`t have any Marshall sounding module and try to find something. I`ve had jcm900, tsl2000 and some valvestate series, but I sold them, because it is not my tone. I preffer the older models.
I am really pleased now witn my Randall V2. Quiet versatile.
Does anyone try to send the signal from the V2`s preamp to the poweramp of RM100? Is it safe? Thanks!

Custom 3 is pretty Marshall like , albeit a bit tighter in the bass.

Check out a stock SL+ - they are good - or a Mash-all if you can find one
4x Egnater m4 , 3 x Randall RM4.
Loads of modules (50 at last count)
Chasing great tones for my custom built guitars.

Agreed on Custom 3 being Marshally....It's an aggressive Marshall-tone...It's not for me personally but I know many who love it....

You are right regarding Custom 3. It delivers really Marshall`s tones.
Even I like it better for bluesy things with small amount of gain and the volume pot on the guitar at 3 to 5 (neck) than the Clean stock module.
Does anyone know on which amp is based this Clean (Randall stock) module?
Thanks!

The Clean module is an original Randall voicing.

Well, I should look for something more fenderish voicing then. Also Clean is the most incompatible donor. I fell I`m little f.... up. :D
