Welcome

Post by ned » Thu Mar 02, 2006 2:58 pm

Here is the new MTS series forum. The original Egnater forum seems to have disappeared so I have set this one up.

Need some beautification work but I'll take care of that over the next few days.

If you have ideas for organization of the forum please don't hesitate to make suggestions. For instance do we need a seperate module modification area?

Also, please be courtious, keep flames to a minimum and no spam please.

Welcome.

Not a problem. My RM50HB is my regular amp and once the Egnater forum went down something had to replace it. The more we can excite people about these amps the better chance we have of new modules.
Grail Tone - Amp Settings
My Rig: Egnater Mod 50 1x12 Combo w/ VX and SL2 modules
FX: Digitech GSP1101, RM4 w/ SuperV, JTM45, Plexi, XTC, KH2, TB, H9, G-Major, ton O Rockman stuff

Hey thanks for setting this up man. That MTS thread was out of Control!
Hopefully the Randall peeps will come here from time to time.

The Egnater forum was the only place we had before it got killed.
Sometimes seemed a little dead there though.
Since this is coming from HC there will probably be more traffic too.

Hey, Ned, thanks for putting in the work to get this thing together. Looks great. Hopefully everyone who visitied the old Egnater forum will find their way here.

You asked for suggestions on the organization of this forum, so here are my thoughts.... I think you should reduce the number of sub-forums here. Here's why:

1. A question about the Randall RM4 preamp almost surely applies to the Egnater M4 as well, so no need for separate Randall/Egnater MTS sections.
2. The MTS amps and modules are so inter-related that I don't think the modules need their own separate forum.
3. If I have a question about using a multi-effects unit with my RM4, does that go in the MTS section or the Effects question?

I also don't know if there's going to be enough traffic to make all of the sub-forums worthwhile. Personally, I think all you need is:

Randall/Egnater modular amps
Other Egnater related products
Other gear discussion
For sale/wanted
Off topic

Anyway, those are just my opinions...take 'em with a grain of salt. Thanks again for putting this together. Now I can stop checking on the Egnater forum every day. :)

Gary

I'd say it depends. I have both Egnater and Randall Modules. They both have thier place, but do NOT sound the same.

I could see being interested in Egnater information only vs. Randall.

Perhaps an FAQ section compiled of the differences and tonal descriptions (Sound clips?) eventually.

Personally I would LOVE to see (with Bruce's Permission) a Randall to Egnater conversion section. So say you could change the necessary parts to make it egnater equivalent to try it. THere will still be a difference because the Egnater is all carbon comps and higher end caps/relays.. but would be cool nonetheless.

If there is an option to combine those posts later into one forum, it might be better to see how it goes and then do it when (if?) it becomes necessary.
This is where you write stuff no one reads anyway.

Good suggestions. I will make those moves next week as I'm in Singapore this week and have very limited Internet connectivity.
