FS: Grail and Egnater ERECT (single channel) in Europe/CLIPS

Post by christones » Sun Sep 17, 2006 5:16 am

Hi,
new here, a long time lurker and I found lots of useful information here. I play an Egnater M4 preamp and find it a wonderful tool for most different sounds. Anyway, sorry for a shameless plug in my very first post..., but I have two modules for sale on ebay. I am located in Germany, so I prefer shipping within Europe for those, but if someone outside Europe is interested, I can arrange that, too. The Grail is brandnew and the Egnater ERECT is dead mint. Here are the links.
Thanks for looking.

Hi,
no, it's not overpriced, they have a retail price of 359 EUR here and are still NOT available. I guess the European Union RoHs comliance issue is somehow responsible for the unavailability, so keeping that in mind it's actually a good price for a European based buyer I think. If you buy from the US and add shipping plus import duty it's still more than 249 EUR. But I agree, the Grail does only make sense for a European buyer.

Hi Felipe,
ok, here are two quick mp3's from the Grail and the Erect module. It's recorded thru a custom made 2x12 Paul Lenders cab with an Eminence Gov'ner miced by a SM 57. A little ambience and delay from my Powercore card and that's it. First parts is played with a Music Man Luke (with EMG's and the drop D stuff with a Les Paul). Both modules are in the same ballpark with the Grail having a Soldano touch to it (me thinks...).

PS: My other modules are Twin, Vx, MHG (all Eggies) and the Randall 1086.

Hi Felipe,
thanks, believe it or not, the power amp is a 1 unit Brunetti Rock It - sounds really good this little beast

CT,

Your clips echo what I have heard when comparing my Egnater to Randall modules. Overall I have the feel that the Randall modules are a bit brighter and cut through the mix easier.

You can get the same sound with the Egnater version but the tone controls have a lot of control on the sound - especially how much bass you have. And, they are much more sensitive to the settings than the Randall ones.

Translate that into Egnater lets you really dial in your sound (or screw it up) while Randall keeps you more "in-line".

After a lot of tweaking on the Egnater I can get the sound that I want, and then it sounds a bit more refined than the Randalls - al least on the twin/vox/SL+ modules.

Just my 2 cents - good luck on your sale - nice playing!
