Well the title suggests what i'm asking.

I've heard of quite a few people using these and supposedly they sound amazing,

I've been through JJ 6L6's, TAD 6L6's, Ruby STR 6L6's, Ruby EL34, Winged C EL34, and Svet 6550's.

I love the JJ 6L6s in the RT 2/50, still trying to tinker with the right EL34, i'm looking at either a Tung Sol 5881 or Tung Sol EL34B

I've also used the JJ E34L's and liked them too.

But.....

On one of the websites i wanted to buy the TS 5881 from it said that the tube was only rated of up to 400V, the RT 2/50's run at approx 500V.

So my question is has anyone run into any troubles?

Cheers,
Tys

I've never had a problem with them. They are build pretty ruggedly.

Agreed. Have run them for years without issue. Had more trouble with EL34s. Never have blown a TS 5881
