Here's the Randall XTC modified by Jeff Hilligan.

I used my Suhr Pro Modern M1, with the XTC in the M4, powered by the Randall RT2/50 w/ 6550s run into my Grendel Dead Room iso cab w/ a G12K85 and mic'ed by 2 SM57s. I am using a BB preamp to boost the XTC just a bit. The Gain on the BB is at 9 oclock, the treble at 10 oclock, the bass at 2 oclock, and the volume at 11 oclock.

The drums are just a groove w/ EZDrummer I threw in there for fun. Here are 2 MP3s...one w/ just the rhythm guitars, and one w/ a lead and drums over the rhythm.

i think it would cost about a hundred bucks, you would get a new faceplate and knobs too!

I am getting this mod done in the next week or so. I love Jerry Cantrell's tone and Jeff's mod nails it, based on the clips that I have heard. Can't wait to hear it in person.

I really like the work! The stock XTC has a character I really like and didn't want to lose. After Jeff's work it still has the character that I know and love but with improved clarity and harmonics. It's a cheap mod and Jeff turned it around before I knew it. So if you're not looking for a radical change in tone, but a more solid, pro version of what you have...do it.
Cheers,
Jace
