I like finding great music to listen to. It can be new song or something from decades ago that I'm just discovering now. I thought we could have a thread where we can share our new music finds. From big name bands, to bedroom rockers to that band at a bar whose album you bought.

What's good? What's new? What turns you on that you can turn others onto?

So, I'll start.

Propagandhi- Supporting Caste
I was recommended this band after asking on a forum "what were some good punk bands that have great musicianship". Supprisingly, I got this reccomendation from someone on TGP. Propagandhi are a Canadian melodic hardcore band that started out as a standard hardcore band and as they've grown as a band, their sound has gotten more metal, so now its a blend of punk and metal, but it stays musical and melodic.
The song starts at about the 44 second mark- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbBlnFtb8W4

Chromeo- Bonafied Lovin'
In an entirely different style of music than Propagandi, this is a band called Chromeo. I heard this song playing at a department store and I was in the changing room trying pants on, so I "shazam'd" the song. Its a band of 2 guys. Guy 1 sings and plays guitar. Guy 2 is the dj/ keyboardist. I'm not much of a hip-hop fun, but I like this song a lot. There's something almost 80's sounding about it. I also think that the main riff is lifted from an Eagles song.

How about some new Big Wreck...

2 Seattle groups I've really enjoyed...

The newest Queensryche album (with new singer) called Queensryche has some very cool classic sounding songs, and Todd sounds a fair bit like Geoff Tate (without the beating up of other band members.)

Heart released an album in 2004 called Jupiter's Darling that is fantastic - parts rock pretty hard and there is some nice grooving drum work. And Nancy plays some sweet acoustic and mandolin. Oh and the vocals are stellar. Highly recommend if you like older Heart (Nancy produced the music and it shows in a really good way.)

Check out these sights for new music. Indy to punk styles. Also a great place for new music is the line up at SXSW.
