Mylar film caps
Are Mylar film caps any good to use? It's the only type the small electronics place my work uses carries. They are cheep, brown and look just like the ones Randall uses in the modules.

They're OK....used as stock in a lot of modules as far as I know....so long as you get the right voltage, you should be good.
Caps are an interesting subject...lots of fun experimenting with the effects different types have on the tone....not done much of it myself.
I posted some thoughts a while back based on comparing stock with poly and orange drops based on modded modules I've owned and stuff I changed myself.....there's a few posts on it from the modders..Pete, Rob etc. also.
