RH-100 gain2/foot switch problem

I have an RH100 with a feedback problem on gain 2. Is this normal for these heads? and what can I do about it? Also,I'm in need of a foot switch for it,Randall told me I need an RF2 but the RF4G2/G3 looks like it would work.Anyone know if it would? Thanks. :?:
 
I have an RH200 with the same problem it only happens when I' m standing close to the amp. As far as the foot switch I use my two button from my Marshall.
