As the title.

I've had my RHG200SC head (and matching cab) for 4 years.

In that time its been rehearsed with twice per week plus gigs (over the years probably looking at around 100 gigs or so.
The amp has NEVER been mishandled or dropped although it does have light wear n tear marks as per any amp of this age.

The left hand channel does not work anymore failing to output through the top/bottom left speakers.

The amp has been taken into a specialist amp repair centre with over 50 years experience in repairing and building amps here in the UK. The technician said the circuit board has burnt and is now completely shot. Needs a new one (along with other parts for the pre amp which stopped the chorus effect working a long time ago).

The technician then contacted SoundTech (the UK dealer/distributer for Randall in the UK).
It seems that it is going to be cheaper to just buy a new amp than repair my G2.

How can this be acceptable?

I've sent Randall an email however so far i've had absolutely NO response which i find ignorant and rude.

I've got a 13 year old Marshall amp in my home studio that has never let me down once.
How can it be acceptable that after 4 years i have to replace the Randall as this will be cheaper than repairing???

I am the rhythm guitarist in unsigned UK band Element, and we are in good running to play the UKs Bloodstock metal festival this august and this would be great coverage for Randall - if they can help with some kind of solution or good will gesture discount towards a new model.

Does anyone have a contact for Randall in USA other than the one on their website which they've ignored?

Thanks for anyones help

UPDATE

Spoke to Alistair at SoundTechnology (UK distributors for Randall).

He basically wont do anything as the G2s were the model before SoundTechnology took over UK distribution for Randall.

I've still had no response from Randall or USMusicorp.

To cut a long story short. NO MORE RANDALLS FOR ME.

We've previously been featured in Guitar & Bass magazine etc. I shall be dropping all the guitar gear mags a brief email to see what they make of a non repairable 4 year old amp.

How do you expect to build a good relationship with customers or reputation if you dont even have the decency to replay to mails regarding things like this.

FOR ALL UK POSSIBLE CUSTOMERS. DO NOT BOTHER, THE AFTER SERVICE IS SHOCKING AND NON EXISTENT. CHANCES ARE YOUR RANDALL AMP WILL HAVE PROBLEMS. MINE TWICE IN 4 YEARS

WOW man that sucks,I've just emailed Randall about some parts for an RT250 and had parts free of charge in a week,I also had an RM100 about 3 years ago that needed some work and had absolutely no problems with service or repair costs.Hope you hear from them and get your situation taken care of.I feel for you man!!!!

Hi man

What email address did you use to contact them? I used the one (the only one) on the website, twice, but still nobody responds.

Could you send me the contact details of the person who got back in touch with you?

I'd much appreciate it

Best regs

sadly i think it may be cause we live in the us and your in the uk (which i agree is total bull****) but may be a sad truth. just a thought, they got me my info on my rg170es in seconds. before i was off the phone i had the manual and wiring diagram before my vary eyes.

were you rude to them once you noticed that they were "unable" to repair it but rather recommend that you buy a new amp? again, sadly they are a much bigger company now and not even owned by the same people so i imagine they just swept you under the rug if it was posing a problem. just my honest thoughts.

good luck dude

Just an update.

Got in touch with Randall/usmusic corp. They got in touch with UK distributor and sorted a fix out.

In short, they picked up the amp and got all sorted and returned within a few days.

Even though Randall aren't massive in the UK i have been given a complete new bill of faith with the after service here in UK and would advise anyone browsing this forum that problems (in the unlikely event that they occur) can be fixed and Randall cared enough to sort mine out in the end very efficiently.

I'm now on with purchasing T2.

Cheers Randall. Big thumbs up from UK user/abuser!
