I was about to buy V2 but heard Boogie Rectifiers on fire.
I couldn't decide.
Any preferences, recommendations ??
Thanks.

And how bout Krank ??
and Engl....

The Randall sounds better at low volumes.

The Recto has a better clean channel (believe it or not).

The Randall has more bass (a LOT more bass).

The Recto has better resale value.

The Randall has a tighter attack.

The Recto cuts through better.

The Randall is less "buzzy".

The Recto .....

I guess you might want to play both amps in order to make a decision.

I agree with what you said 100%. I had a mesa single recto and a V2 at the same time and decided to sell the mesa

They are both great amps and are similar. I think the Randall has a lot more chunk to it though

I can't comment on Krank, but I had an Engl. It was a good gigging amp, but it didn't have much low end. Not that that's a bad thing because it cut through the mix very well.

Engl vs. V2? It's a personal preference here too. Both kill.

I just one to make one note about Scooters comment on the Engl...

Scooter had the Engl Preamp- not an Engl Poweramp or Head. Its probrably the poweramp that he was using that lacked low end. I say this because Engl (especially the Powerball Model) are near legendary for their Low end.

I'm getting a Engl Powerball soon myself; and I've played through my friends. I have to say that the Powerball is one of the best Metal amps I played through: its Articulate, responsive, massive low end (although, still not as much as a randall)

my krankenstein owns any rectifier i've played.

the krank has a tight bottom end, and lots of it, and it doesn't get muddy. the midrange is smooth and the highs have a nice sizzle without getting harsh.
