Best tubes for voxless?

Hi,

It looks like I bought a voxless module from the classifieds area. I have some tung-sol 12ax7s in my current Egnater VX, but I am wondering if there are some better ones suitable for getting the "real" voxy sound?

My ideal tone is more of the queen BM sound, but I can't find any info on the type/brand of preamp tubes he uses.

Congrats on your purchase and I think you will really enjoy the mod.

I think the best current production tube for that tone might be the Tung Sol 12AX7. It will have an extended high range that should help.

I wouldn't spend too much time searching for what tubes Brian May uses. His tone is driven by far more than his choice in tubes.
