Has anyone had any experience with a stock Top Boost module?

I just picked one up and compared to a JF Brahma and Scary, the overall output seems to be very low. With the level maxed on the TB I have to keep the level on the other two below noon to match up.

I have tried other tubes, mixing up the slots, and cleaning the contacts.
 
Actually it's my #1 in the RM50 with an OD special in #2. All the mods levels vary. It is lower than the others but I also run the power amp section at 12 o'clock at least. Works really well with a clean boost or tube screamer.
 
That's going to be normal. The Vox tone stack is devoid of midrange. When you remove that much of the most important part of the frequency range, the module will be perceived as quieter. There's nothing wrong with your module.
 
I've never found it to be any quieter than my other stock modules.
The distortion on the gain knob comes in very quickly though, so you need to balance that if you're going for a clean tone.
