I'm a little different (laugh right about now....)
I let the wood and tubes (and ICs) tell me what they have to offer. I listen to everything (and anything!!!)..and decide if it "works". I tried the "4 different amps in a rm4" concept and while that was fun....it went out of style for me.
I have found my tone by going from clean to crazy dirty ACROSS 4 modules. That's how I have wound up in MTS-World.
It works for me. It sounds like ME doing my thing, and I go from a spectrum of Fender Clean (the de-facto standard clean guitar sound from 1960 to now) to a very over the top distorted tone (a 1087 or a RR59).
For many gain-crazy people here..maybe I don't go extreme enough..but I really am ALWAYS happy with my tone-spectrum approach.
I listened to what the gear said..and this is what it has said. ...
LOUD AND PROUD.
