Been modding my SL2 and VX modules lately, and here's one thing I've noticed: on both modules, they use 1M pots for gain on BOTH channels.
The pots are mounted to a board, the only other parts being two resistors (R1 and R2).

Since the pots are the same, do those resistors control the amount of gain on each channel?

Basically, other than the gain, I'm trying to figure out why/how CHB of the VX has more treble than CHA. On that gain pot PCB mentioned above, R1 is empty, but R2 has a 56K resistor.

Thanks!

Is R2 in parallel with the relevant gain pot (parallel resistances) or is it connected to ground (eg. voltage divider)? If parallel then the pot's resistance will now be that of the parallel resistances of the pot (1M) and the 56k resistor. eg:

Rt = 1 / (1/1M + 1/56k)
