Dear All:

I have a Randall MTS Lyncc box 100w head used long time, but have some problem happen recently, my amp now have red Plating on 4 power tubes, firsty i change all 4 tube to new 6l6 set, but the problem still happen.

some point i see the amp and information i can offer

1)led bias is off (when the amp on and play mode)
2)if take off the power tube, amp work seems work fine
3)amp on in stand by mode(not play mode), already happen red plate
4) B+ on power tube about 425-435V (tube on), 525V (no tube)

check the amp inside, i dont see any parts is burned,
and test bias pots is work,

and i try to follow geofex to find the probelm, look seems at the point of "Failing cathode resistor bypass capacitor on cathode biased amps"

http://www.geofex.com/ampdbug/smoke.htm

i have RM100 Schematic(Get From randall Email me), but not sure which part of parts need to change ~ (all look fine on bias parts)

any suggest to fix this problem??
thx so much !!!~

after the amp sleep half year more~~

i test this amp again, i remove the fuse on power tube (ex v3 power)
the red plate is gone, even in stand by mode and play mode~

any expert can suggest me which parts should be exchange or check in the amp??

thx so much !! ~

Hmm, red plate in standby mode makes no sense.

Can you play your amp in standby mode? If so then the standby switch is bad, or C1 on the power board is shorted.

This still doesn't explain the red plating.

This could be a number of things, you should take it in for repair.
