Pre tube covers

Is it ok to take them off so i can see the tubes, the amp definatlly looks much cool with three more red spots glowing 8) Are these on hear just to hold the tubes in tight when moving it or do they serve some other purpose?

I pulled mine off to change out the preamp tubes. Mine had a JJ ECC83S in the common input tube slot and Electro Harmonix 12AX7's in the effects loop slots. I swapped the common input tube out for another EH 12AX7 and it sounds much better. I just leave those cans off so I can swap different tubes in and out. Don't think it matters unless you are moving the amp around alot. Those things are kinda a ***** to get off too.

Yea thats why I took mine off origionally too, mine had ruby 12ax7 in the commin and I put a groove tubes ecc83 and it sounded alot better.
