KH-2 based on what module?

According to the Hammett/Randall Interview in Guitar World, the KH-2 is based upon an existing module that was further tweaked. Anyone, any tech-based ideas which one?

They started with the Plexi platform as the base.

Randall originally sent Kirk a head along with a bunch of modules and the one that he seemed to like the best (at least the one that got mentioned) was the Brown module. But in the interviews, they said the Plexi module was used to create the KH sigs.

Does anybody know how they may compare with the Plexi module?

They're really not like the plexi at all. At a VERY basic level it kinda has a similar voicing but both the kh2 and kh3 are bigger and badder. More gain, more articulation, fuller sounding, etc.

I read that the KH2 is a suggested replacement for the brown, so they must be similar
