Hi,
my new modification,

Mod called ?DEADPLATE?.
Upgraded version of my first SLO based modification.
Doesn?t have Crunch mode and Bright switch.
But brings other features, more usable for higain players.
It s based on Rectifier preamp with a few cool and very usable features:

- 3 position tight switch (middle position covers GRAIL tone, the other two positions ale less tight, more fat and full)
- BLAST ? special dynamically controlled function. Adds aggressive edge depending on how hard you play. Cool function, and true bypassable.
- NOISE GATE ? very usable on higher gain settings. Very usable function, also completely bypassable.

This module is dedicated for higain freaks.
For lovers of RECTO tones.
Additional functions adds versatility.
Call it swiss army knife for metal player
Design of rusted tread plate, blue led, red led that indicates BLAST peaks.
Heavy metal knobs.

new soundsamples of DEAD PLATE added:

For comparison of special feature "BLAST" added two samples:
GATE and BLAST OFF:

GATE AND BLAST ON:

The most power of BLAST function is when you play on it, and your dynamic react (in real time) on what you hear.
These soundsample are reamped, but that "Biting angry edge" is heard very nice.

And, to show that deadplate is not only rhythm players weapon, great PedroDe Luxe lead lick is added too, of course, BLAST ON:

Jaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!

Can?t wait to play my new weapon side by side with my KH 3 and my 1086 and see what it does...

Anthony made my Dead Plate really sound and look like the way I wanted and even more !
Everybody with a Randall MTS amp should get a module modded by Salvation. It?s not just a lot of fun "working" together with that cool guy, the sound and the gimmicks are just awesome. That build in noise gate for example is perfect. I will sell my ISP Decimator, cause there is no need for it anymore ! I used to play an Engl Powerball, but the noise gate in it is a joke !
My other guitar player is still using his powerball, but I can tell you, there is no need to get one...
Get your own signature preamp !
My next one is on its way
it will be great using this in the studio !

Thank you Anthony for making this true.

Sascha

Deadplate version I. and even higher gain version II. /without Blast option and with added sweep knob/

I'm quite curious what the Sweep control does on this module, this doesn't make the choices easier, though

What does the blast feature do? I play mostly lead so which feature would be better for me...the blast or the sweep?

Blast adds gain , adds "liquid sustain" and higher frequencies are then dynamically controlled. Great feature which adds gain but not noise.

If you like Recto tones, then I recommend Deadplate I. with "Blast" function.
If you want higher gain than Recto has, and more variability in mids, then I recommend Deadplate II. with "Sweep" function.
