New Tool album tone?

Is the 1086 the one to get close to the heavy tone on the new Tool album?

I haven't listen the whole way through but the first couple songs don't seem very gain-heavy. However... that doesn't mean the 1086 can't get it! I would have to say before I just sold my RM4 that the 1086 was THE best module out to date. Granted I never got to try the Ultra XL, but I have a feeling the 1086 more versatile than most of the other modules out there. Go pick one up already Gary, you are missing out! I am too now.... but at least my car is running again! Yay for getting back to work... :roll:

The SL+ is close, but not tight enough. .haven't done the cap mod yet.

Hey yeah i picked up that album wednesday. Love it, not as good as their others but i still think its pretty awesome. And yeah there distortion isnt that heavy but i think its more of the rectified module that would do the trick.
