Got the Xpression, but I can't seem to find any presets that sounds good. As in typical FX unit fashion, all the presets are over the top. Way too much of everything. So tweaking them isn't really helping so far.
I just want to be able to add a little this and a little that.
The modualtions in particular have multiple voices. The mixer section, global, etc.
I just want easy!! Like pedals.
Plus, I haven't bought a controller yet. Thinking the midimate would be fine.
So, if anyone is using this unit, could you help with some advise. Or if there is a site/forum/help please direct me to it.
Thanks

This isnt XPression only advice since I dont have one, but my G-Major's presets were all over the top as well.

Try to find a mix control and turn the wetness down to 20% or so as a starting point. Make sure you run it through your serial loop. That should give you a good basis to fine tune from.

like he said, go to the mixer section, go to the effects level part, and dial down the effects to maybe 4.5

im getting rid of my expression because its so dman hard to use

I spent hours with it tonite. I think I get it now...at least a little. I run mono so the dual voices threw me. I just turned the second one off to make the modulation fx more subtle.
Tomorrow I will tackle the delays....
Thanks

....so after finally getting the MidiMate and floundering around trying to program the Xpression (and not getting very far), I decided to try to give Rocktron (GHS) a call and see if I could get some help. I explained that I needed help with my Xpression to the nice lady that answered the phone and she directed my call to one of the techs/product specialists.

What a great experience. Talked to this fella, Jim Chowning. He made some suggestions then he emailed me 2 PDF files that basically are idiot (me) proof. "press this, then this then that"...great stuff! Worked first time. I followed up with a couple more questions via email and he responded with 10 mins!! Excellent. Now my M4 rig is complete with FX, CC changes etc etc.
Kudos to the Rocktron guys!

BTW - if anyone with an Xpression and MidiMate needs programming help RE the MidiMate, CC changes, etc, I'll gladly pass these docs on to you.
