Missed this tone so i decided to go back...

... to Soldano. Picked up an Astroverb 16 after trying one out. I am really enjoying Mike Soldano's take on the EL84 power amp... sounds nothing like any other EL84 I've heard... 111% Soldano tone.
I got the 1x12... read lots of complaints on the small open back not having enough bottom... I gues it does'nt if you expect it to sound like a 4x12 but I have to say I get great tones from this amp. Mic'd up thru a PA or into the console it sounds wicked. It's a loud 20 watts... plenty loud to keep up with an acoustic kit. I'm going to purchase a Mesa Theile cab and upgrade the stock Eminence with a Jensen Jet Series Blackbird 12" 16ohm speaker.
