Hey,

I'm looking for a new module. I'm looking for a slash type of tone. I've previously owned a SL+ and i wasn't impressed at all, however i didn't do a cap mod with it.

other modules that come close to that marshall JCM slash signature sound?

Try out the Plexi and see if it's your thing. Sometimes just adding a boost pedal works wonders! :)

You can take your SL+ module and mod it to a JCM800

Scroll down a bit and you'l find the instructions there

Its more than just a cap mod. It also involves changing out some resistors.

Randall MTS Module SL+ to JCM800 Tone Stack Mod
The current Randall SL+ as well as the original Egnaters (SL++) have the original Marshall mid circuit with less mid-range. You can adjust the mid range circuit with 2 small part changes to make it closer to newer Marshall tone controls. To change to the new Marshall circuit you would have to change R31 to a 33K resistor and C14 to a 470pf (500V min). This would add more cutting mid-range with still about the same level of cut when the mid knob is lower.

Yeah. well with changing everything, etc. Will that make a big difference? Thanks.
