help with my tone

basically I want the legendary dimebag darrell tone, something close to vulgar display / cowboys from hell. I have a randall warhead 1st gen combo, and an mxr 6 band blue eq. at the moment im getting a 'not bad' tone, but its kind of fuzzy, im not sure why, it hasnt got the sharpness of dimes, its heavy, but to fuzzy.

any help would be great

I haven't had a solid state Randall in a long time, and my experience is limited to the older RG series stuff, not sure about a Warhead. But anyway...a Furman PQ3 or another similar parametric eq is what you need, boost the lows, sccop the mids...and you should get a little closer to Dime tone.

I use the older style WRAHEAD 300w head, the one with the eq on it. I use a MXR 6 band eq and recently switched to duncan sh6 pickups in all of my guitars. I turn the mids down on the amp and up on the eq pedal and it sounds pretty close.
