Has anyone tried the Celestion G12-H100 speakers made for Randall? These have been available for the last couple years at least, in the 412-100 designated cabinets. They are in the current year's RV412S-100, RV412A-100, and RS412KH-100 Kirk Hammet Signature cabinets. Previously, they were found in the R412XLT100, RS412XLT100, RS412XLT100N, RS412XLT100BC, RS412XL100, RA412XL100, and RS412XL100HH.

Often these cabinets state "perfect match for a V2/T2 head", with their higher power handling. The original Made in the U.K. G12H-100 speakers were pretty popular before being discontinued and replaced by the G12K-100, which people seem to not be crazy about. I would like to know if anyone has had the G12-H100's built for Randall though. Have you had a chance to A/B them with the G12K-100's or the original G12H-100's?

These have been available for quite awhile now and in lots of cabinets, so SOMEONE out there has to have a set. Tell me what you think of them!

h 100 are big deep and grindy. k100 sounds like a v30 with tighter bass. i think they are hot n midrangey

I was under the impression the the only difference is that the K100s have an extended bass response... I'm not positive.

But anyway, my XLT100 cab is awesome and a great match for the V2/T2 series! Lots of thump and cleans sound great too.

I replaced Jaguar 75w speakers from my Randall cab with 2x H100 made in England and 2x K100 made in China speakers. Huge difference.
Compared this cab with Marshall 1960 (G12T 75) and 1960AV (Vintage 30) with Marshall TSL 100 and Randall V2.
Only on the Marshall`s clean chanel the vintages sounded more clearly/bright than H/K 100`s. On drive chanel (both amps Randall and Marshall) the H/K 100`s sounded way better (more aggression, more responce, more hights, tight bass) than the vintage`s and T75`s.
If I soon find poplar material, I will make 2x12 cabinet, so I will compare H100 vs K100.

I compared 2xH100 (UK made) vs 2xK100 (China made) using only V2 amp, because I am not playing my new Lynch box at the moment.
Their character is the same, but K100s have more hights and are a little bit more clear. Not that thick sound compare to H100s.
H100s are not muddy at all, they just sound like scooped mids, but enough clearly on the single notes and the chords. Smooth and mild bass, but not boomy.
Both pairs combined in a 4x12 sound very ballanced and complementary.
I don`t know if that description for a sound only with words will help anyone. I will try to make some records, so the difference in the speakers could be heard, but I am not so good player and an enginner in records and mixing.
