Can someone please educate me as to what a Rectifier is .. ive been looking at a b52 amp head and it says it has 2 tube rectifiers and a solid state rectifier?????Help someone

It's the bit of the amp that converts AC to DC - this used to be done by tubes but is more commonly now done by solid state diodes.

Basically you normally need a tube recto per 50 watts, hence 2 tube rectos.
