Keep you posted ...
Why is it posted here? Because I ran an RM4 for the tests!

Ironic you posted this Ulf, I am starting up a design or two for some tube power amps and just got the discussions started with Mercury Magnetics about the transformers this past week! Send me an email with details about your findings, I'm interested in what you liked most. I'd like to take it into consideration in my designs.

Rob, this seems like as good a place as any to vocalize my long-standing wish for a MONO tube power amp that is flexible enough to run the most common octal types (6V6, EL34, 6L6, and variants thereof). Bonus points if it's a single rack space, but that's not really a big deal. I used to own a Simul 395, and it was awesome, but I got rid of it because the second side of it was basically dead weight to me.

I would looooove a mono power amp also. Studio work I usually run my rm4 into the loop of a custom Baron amp if I can't get what I'm going for with the rm50. This may be another nice addition to more possibilities!

Rob I have a feeling Ima be hitting you up for some custom one off mods real soon. I'm starting to get GAS back and your now 1st on my list

Hello Rob, of course I will!

I believe the sound of tubes is a factor. But it isn't by far the only one.
One main factor is the concept of the amplifier. To my finding there a linear and intendenly non-linar designs. Plus, there a design that will work fine with dedicated preamps or even sounds, some not.

What do the asterisks indicate?
