Hey there. ; } . I've been searching all threads for almost a full day trying to find the thread(s) explaining the purpose of the 3 preamp tubes INSIDE my MTS RM20. I know the p.t. closest to the power tubes is the P.I. Forgot what the other 2 are. And I'm going to experiment with a few different tubes. Thanks.

Although it's stated on the modules
their V1 isn't actually V1
V1 still is the one in your amp
then a Mod is switched in, and after that are the FX and PI

In the RM20:

V1 is the closest to the input jack ( input - hardest one to change from the back). V2 (loop) is behind V1 and V3 (PI) is next to the EL84.

.....................v1
el84 el84 v3 v2

So if you were thinking of this as a regular amp V1 input stages (rm20), V2 gain stages (v1 in mod), V3 gain stage and I think CF (v2 in mod), V4 loop (rn20), V5 PI (rm20).
