I want to want this module, but already own an earlier version of the Custom 3 (two toggles, no Tight or Plus) that was a disappointment from day one. No matter what combination of tubes, speakers or guitars I ever tried it with, I found the sound an off putting cross between mushy and gritty.... I once described it as "a room temperature stick of butter that has been rolled in playground sand".

Has anyone compared the early C3s against the C3++ ? If the ++ is considered significantly more sharp and crisp, I might be able to talk myself into giving it a chance.

Not tried the early version but I've found the ++ to be the opposite. Tight and sharp.
